音乐巨匠贝多芬毕生的心血，九部交响曲全数收录——《贝多芬第一~第九交响曲》，1801年，贝多芬爱上了朱列塔‧圭恰迪尔，他把《月光奏鸣曲》献给她。但是风骚幼稚自私的奇丽爱太不理解他崇高的灵魂。1803年与伽仑堡伯爵结婚，这是令人绝望的时刻，他曾写下遗书。1803年他从灰暗中走出来，写出了明朗乐观的《第二交响曲》。之后更多更好的音乐在他的笔下源源不断的涌现。《第三交响曲》（英雄）、《第五交响曲》（命运）、《第六交响曲》（田园），还有优美动听、洋溢着欢乐的小提琴协奏曲，以及绚丽多彩的钢琴协奏曲和奏鸣曲。1823年，贝多芬完成了最后一部巨作《第九交响曲》（合唱）。这部作品创造了他理想中的世界。1826年12月贝多芬患重感冒，导致肺水肿。1827年3月26日，贝多芬终于咽下最后一口气，原因是肝脏病。在他临终前突然风雪交加，雷声隆隆，似乎连上天也为这位伟大音乐家的去世而哀悼！
Christian Thielemann被誉为“德国指挥界最有希望的继承人”。他近年来迅速走红，和他千禧年之后每年在拜鲁伊特音乐节上精彩的表现有很大关系。他 2000、 02年，上演《名歌手》，2002-05年指挥《唐豪塞》，2006-07年开始指挥《指环》，曲目的份量是慢慢增加。笔者听过他在拜鲁伊特的《名歌手》 的录音，干净利落，气魄非凡又份量十足，和历史上任何一个经典录音比都不逊色。近年来，拜鲁伊特音乐节的掌门权的争夺是很激烈的。现任总监，理查‧瓦格纳 的孙子沃尔夫冈‧瓦格纳暂时还没有人可以动摇他的位置和影响力，除了他本人厉害的政治手腕之外，和他紧紧抓住Christian Thielemann这位爱将是有一定关系。从发展的态势看，Christian Thielemann象Hans Knappersbusch那样对拜鲁伊特音乐节那样影响深远是迟早的事。
